This is a quick note to alert Zero Retries readers that are into Amateur Radio Digital nostalgia that there is a New Old Stock (unopened box) Heathkit HD-4040 TNC for sale on eBay.
I thought that this item was sufficiently unique and “Zero Retries Interesting” to alert Zero Retries readers while there’s still time to bid.
To familiarize yourself with the HD-4040, I found a good (retro) review. Basically, the HD-4040 is a Heathkit version of the original TAPR TNC (which was renamed to TNC-1 upon the release of the TAPR TNC-2).
I have no relationship to this item or this eBay seller, and I’m not one of the bidders (I already have both a TNC-1 and an HD-4040 in my collection).
