Funny you mention Chromebooks and ham radio software. I often think of the advantages of client/server software with web applications running to a back end server controlling a radio. The best example of that in the ham radio world I can think of is Pat. It allows the program to run a Raspberry Pi, which is ideal (except perhaps for SD card life) for light 24x7 low power operation especially on batteries, where laptops and Chromebooks can use its services without software installation. Recently Pat users have managed to get VARA running on a Raspberry PI under Windows emulation - not ideal but useful nonetheless.

I've wanted to do some of that myself, but I find programming in browsers extremely tiresome.

73, going to pass on Dayton this year but will likely make the pilgrimage in 2023.

While there isn't an ARDC forum, TAPR has extended a slot to ARDC as part of their forum.
